96 Hours Door to Door

Well I got back from Bachelor land last weekend, and it was a quick trip – 96 hours from take-off to touch down, back here in Calgary. It was a beautiful country with the most amazing people. So when you are looking to get out of the Calgary brown and you want to head south, and you see Cuba on the map – keeping looking further south-east. There is so much more to see in the Caribbean. Here’s a few more pics from the trip.

I arrived today in St Lucia today for a 5 day assignment for Up ! Magazine the inflight mag on WestJet flights. They now fly to St. Lucia direct form TO and have me shooting a photo/video essay on Island life for a upcoming issue. After a week at the Olympics, I drove back to Calgary and dumped the rain jacket and winter boots. I caught a red-eye to Toronto last night and then connected here on a 5 hour flight and got in around 3. Lots of pics to come and video too !

I shot the day earlier – they have since taken down a banner covering the fence.

The first few days

I am now in Vancouver after driving out a few days ago and have since been in Canmore, Victoria, and Whistler for various clients. I shot for The Globe, The Canadian Press, Polaris and Stern Magazine. It has been a busy and wet first few days of the Olympics. Here’s a few pics so far – not to forget it is also Chinese New Year and Valentines day.

I got a call yesterday as I was on the road heading to Vancouver from the sports photo editor at the New York Times. They wanted to use one of my images from a story I shot earlier in the year on the science of sport.

This afternoon I photographed the Hon. Elaine McCoy, a Senator, who sits in the Upper House representing Alberta as an Independent Progressive Conservative. Senator McCoy is a lawyer and former Alberta cabinet minister with thirty years professional experience in regulation and policy development in both the private and public sectors. She gave me all the time in the world, and was a pleasure to both meet and photograph
